Even if you are not selling your property, you may wish to have it registered with the HM Land Registry.
Registration will provide you with clear documented proof of ownership, with a plan displaying the boundaries. A class of Title will be assigned by the Land Registry, which is guaranteed by the Government. Registration can protect you against property fraud, which unfortunately is on the rise.
Once registered, there is no need to store any documents as the Land Registration Service hold all documents online.
