Job Title: Conveyancing Assistant and Receptionist Full Time and Part Time considered
We are looking for both a Receptionist and an Assistant to work in our Conveyancing department in our Holderness Road Office.
Your role will include, assisting the Fee Earner in dealing with all legal matters, paperwork and queries involved in a property transaction.
Examples of your duties would include:
- Assisting your Fee Earner with their conveyancing caseload.
- Dealing with clients in person and on the telephone and providing updates.
- Getting out the files required to deal with post.
- Responding to correspondence, producing letters to clients and other parties, chasing by phone and email, undertaking tasks on the file.
- Opening new files.
- Arranging appointments.
- Preparing quotations.
- Sending terms of engagement and estimates of fees and disbursements.
- Preparing the seller’s protocol documentation.
- Drafting Transfer Deeds and Requisitions on Title.
- Repaying charges and paying the estate agent’s fee.
- Preparing Stamp Duty forms and dealing with the registration of client and lender with the Land Registry.
- Recording search expiry dates.
- Carrying out initial and pre-completion searches.
- Filing.
- Billing clients.
- Dealing with the payment of disbursements.
- Closing files.
- Keeping Proclaim up-to-date with Sellers and Purchasers information.
- General office duties which include photocopying, sending faxes and scanning.
- Printing documents and e-mail attachments.
- Covering for the work of other support staff in your team during absence through sickness and holiday leave.
- Covering your fee earner’s work which is within your capability during absence through sickness and holiday leave.
- Covering reception when necessary.
- Any other tasks you are requested to carry out by your fee earner.
